Fragrances can have such a powerful effect on our mood and the scent of our home is no exception. Make your house feel like home with these fabulous and easy ways to keep your senses pleasured!
1. Bubble a pot!
Nothing says ‘home’ like the smell of home cooked food coming from the kitchen! For a more crisp scent, try simmering some lime slices and mint leaves or rosemary in water – delicious!
2. Use scented candles.
Unlit scented candles can work wonders, especially when placed in strategic areas, like closets, where fabrics can absorb their scent. Be careful not to light your candles when you place them in closets!
3. Clean up!
This might be a bit obvious, but be sure to give your home a good clean at least once every week. Places that really pack a nasty scent include kitchen sinks, toilets, showers, garbage bins and even your floors. Be sure to use a disinfectant like Ger-Sol which leaves a great scent afterwards!
4. Let some fresh air in.
Take advantage of the Caribbean breeze and open up your windows and doors occasionally to let in some fresh air and for old scents to escape.
5. Clean the not-so-obvious
Sometimes, we forget about the not-so-obvious things at home that can make our homes smell unpleasant – furniture, curtains, mats and carpets, stove, fridge and even the microwave. Take time every few months to clean these items carefully and thoroughly.
